I had some old wicker chairs in my front yard and they were quickly becoming a forever gift to the dumpster. I mentioned to Anthony, a friend of mine, on a Sunday while we were driving that I liked the look of the old metal chairs from the 50's but thought the Adirondack chairs would probably be more comfortable and cheaper if I went with the plastic ones. My problem was picking the color. What to do, what to do? Well, the very next night as I was walking the dogs, what would happen to be on the curb? Two forest green Adirondack chairs! The karma gods decided on a color for me! I jumped in my truck and headed back to the scene as soon as the last dog was inside. One chair has a slightly broken back, but Hallie says it looks good!
Update: This last weekend as I was checking Craigslist for an umbrella and umbrella stand, I ran across an ad for two free green Adirondack chairs and stools. I emailed the person and less than 30 minutes later, I drove about a mile and picked them up. She actually lived along one of my running routes! They were dirty, but after a little scrubbing they are as good as new. One chair has a broken back and the footstools both need painted. The two chairs with broken backs are going in the backyard and I'm off to Ace to buy a can of spray paint. I saw spray paint that is made especially for plastic. We'll see how that turns out!
Ask and you shall receive! Great idea Amy!
